For over 40 years, the J\/24<\/strong> has attracted sailors the world over.\u00a0 With its combination of exciting performance, tight one-design rules, and extensive, well-run class organization, the J\/24<\/strong> continues to be a proving ground for many of today’s champion sailors.\u00a0 Recognized as an international class by World Sailing, the J\/24<\/strong> has been selected for use in continues to be a proving ground for many of today’s champion sailors.\u00a0 Recognized as an international class by World Sailing, the J\/24<\/strong> has been selected for use in nearly every major international championship, including the PanAm Games, World Sailing Games, and Nations Cup.<\/p>\r\n The J\/24<\/strong> is the world’s most popular keelboat class, with over 5,500 boats built and over 50,000 people actively sailing in more than 150 fleets in 40+ countries.<\/p>\r\n The association is directed by a steering board, elected by the fleet members every 4 years.<\/p>\r\n The Greek fleet has a total of 30 registered boats. The sailing calendar of each year includes at least 6 racing events that take place across different locations in Greece. The National Championship is performed in two phases, with the boat scoring the least penalty points to be announced as the National Champion. To promote participation and consistency, the Association at the end of the season awards the three best boats that scored the least penalty points on all the official racing events of the calendar.<\/p>\r\n In 2019 in cooperation with the Sailing Club of Patras, the Hellenic J\/24 Association organized the European J\/24 Championship. The success of the event and the excellent organization contributed significantly, so our association was granted to host the J\/24 Worlds 2023, an event that will take place on 9 September 2023 at the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki.<\/p>\r\n Strictly enforced one-design rules mean that the best sailor – not the sailor with the biggest budget – wins.<\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\nHellenic J24 Class Association<\/h4>\r\n
